As D-Day 2024 approaches, volunteers are getting down to work at the Battery Museum in Merville!
The latter set out to give the Ordnance QF 25-pounder field gun a “facelift”.
We found 6 volunteers under an arbour. All in combinations around the “25 pounder” gun, a British model used by the Belgians during the conflict.
After sanding and a coat of primer, it’s time to paint in British colours with Belgian marking before undergoing

Bombed several times without success, it was neutralised by the 9th British Parachute Battalion after an assault of unbelievable ferocity.
