The Sound and Light Show

A total refurbishment of pillbox 1, which had been restored to its original state as at dawn on 6 June, and in which, thanks to odour spreaders, light effects and a highly sophisticated audio system providing spatial sound effects, you can relive the minutes that preceded the neutralisation of the battery every twenty minutes using our dramatic total immersion method. Sounds, lights and smells combine to plunge the visitor into a deluge of iron and fire, an inferno very similar to that which raged at dawn on 6 June 1944.

Green light: please come in.

Red light: sound and light show in progress, please wait a few minutes before entering. Warning!

Every 20 minutes a siren announces the start of a sound and light animation that dramatically recreates the bombing and neutralisation of the battery at dawn on 6 June 1944.

This particularly realistic immersion in process of letting slip the “dogs of war” is not recommended for children under 8 years, impressionable people, or people with heart conditions, nervous dispositions or claustrophobia.
